How Toolkit Scape works
Three steps for most tools. No desktop install required.
- Pick a tool Open the Homepage catalog or jump to a deep link such as /tools/convert from the sidebar.
- Upload your file Choose a file from your device. Processing runs locally in your browser where possible.
- Download the result Save the converted, edited, or inspected output. Nothing stays on our servers for core workflows.
Policy
Lawful use only
Toolkit Scape is built for people who already have files on their device and want to convert, inspect, or polish them without shady downloaders.
We do not offer stream ripping, paste-link media download, or tools designed to bypass copyright or platform terms. You must upload content you own or may lawfully use. Typical legitimate uses include converting your own exports, stripping EXIF before sharing a photo, verifying a download checksum, building citations from public web pages, or batch-resizing assets you created. Common questions
Do I need an account?
No. All core tools work without signing in. Optional accounts may arrive later for saved preferences and premium features.
Are my files uploaded to your servers?
Most tools process files on your device with WebAssembly, Canvas, and Web Audio. Read each tool guide and our Privacy Policy for exceptions such as citation metadata fetch.
Can I paste a link to convert or download media?
No. Toolkit Scape is upload-only. URL download, stream ripping, and paste-link ripper flows are not supported and never will be.
How do cookies, analytics, and ads work?
A cookie banner lets you choose Essential only (Umami + non-personalized ads) or Accept all (adds personalized ad cookies). Use Cookie preferences in the footer to reset your choice.
What does Academic Tools fetch from a pasted URL?
Auto citations send only the URL you paste so our server can read public page meta tags (title, author, date). It does not download media files. Manual citation entry stays fully local.
Why is there no URL download if citations use links?
Citation metadata reads HTML meta tags from a page you cite - similar to a bibliography helper. It is not a downloader and cannot grab video, audio, or other protected media.
How do I open a specific tool directly?
Use sidebar links or URLs such as /tools/convert for File Converter and /tools/pdf-tools for PDF Tools. The sitemap lists all tool deep links.
Is there a file size limit?
Large files depend on browser memory. Convert blocks files above 500 MB with a clear message. Mobile devices may struggle with very long PDFs or videos.
Does Toolkit Scape encourage piracy?
No. We do not offer stream ripping or third-party download tools. You must upload files you own or may lawfully use. See our Disclaimer for lawful-use expectations.
How are ads shown on the site?
Banner ads appear after you choose in the cookie banner. Essential only shows non-personalized ads without ad profiling cookies. Accept all allows Google AdSense to use relevance cookies for more tailored ads.

Can I use Toolkit Scape offline?
You need to load the app once over the network. After that, many tools keep working if your browser retains cached assets, but we do not ship a full offline PWA yet.
